CHINA-INTERNAL:ANTI-CORRUPTION CAMPAIGN IN TAR
The Central Discipline Inspection Commission (CDIC), China's anti corruption watchdog body, on June 26, 2015, announced that 55-year old Le Dake, Deputy Chief of the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) People's Congress Standing Committee had been detained. Le Dake was head of the TAR's security apparatus from 2004 till January 2013. Prior to that he was Deputy Chief of the Jiangxi Province security apparatus, which he joined in 1994 after joining the Jiangxi police in 1980. Chinese media reports described him as Tibet's "first tiger". After the CDIC's announcement on June 26, TAR Party Secretary Chen Quanguo told a meeting of senior party cadres that "there is nothing special about Tibet … when it comes to the anti-corruption campaign".
