CHINA-MILITARY: PLA NAVY ETIQUETTE PROTOCOL

 The PLA Navy on July 2, 2015, issued a Naval Etiquette Protocol to all naval troops for trial implementation. The PLA Navy's first protocol is an effort to systematically standardize naval etiquette. It totals about 74,000 characters and consists of six chapters, 34 sections, 186 articles and 22 appendixes. It aims to standardize everyday etiquettes including those between naval members, ship etiquettes including naval gun salute and foreign affairs protocol, and ceremonies for equipment commissioning and decommissioning as well as port welcome and farewell for ships.


A senior officer of the Military Affairs Department of the PLA Navy, said the Naval Etiquette Protocol will be conducive to fully demonstrating the PLA Navy's image as a powerful, civilized and peaceful force.
