54-yea old Yang Dongliang, Director, State Administration of Work Safety in the State Council and Member of the 18th CCP Central Committee, resigned on August 17, 2015, accepting moral responsibility for the explosion recently in a Tianjin-based factory. The State Council has also established a team headed by Executive Vice Minister of Public Security Yang Huanning to investigate the cause of last week's deadly explosions in Tianjin. This team will "give a responsible answer" to the Party and the people, and will "define the nature and gravity of the accident, and determine liability" and advise on punishment.
