Xinhua reported that China held its National Religious Work Conference on April 22-23, 2016. CPPCC Chairman Yu Zhengsheng presided over the Conference which was attended by Xi jinping, Li Keqiang, Zhang Dejiang, Liu Yunshan, Wang Qishan. Yu Zhengsheng stressed the development of socialist theory with Chinese characteristics and the need to comprehensively improve the religious level religious work under the new situation. Xi Jinping delivered an important speech. Premier Li Keqiang also spoke at the conference. Others who attended and spoke included responsible comrades of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Public Security and provinces of Hebei, Jiangsu, Guangdong and the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Others who attended were Members of the CCP Central Committee in Beijing and the CCP Central Committee, State Councilors and Presidents of the Supreme People's Court, Supreme People's Procuratorate. Also present were representatives of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and sub-provincial city party committee and government, responsible comrades of the central and state departments and military units concerned.
