China is Vietnam’s biggest trading partner, providing 29 percent of its imports and buying more than 10 percent of its exports. Approvals for Chinese investment into Thailand (including informal trade) have jumped from $50 million a two years ago to close to $1 billion currently. China and the Philippines have bilateral trade of $17 billion and growing quickly.
