Two analysts, Tal Inbar in Israel and Bruce Bechtol in Texas, have noted the similarity between China’s submarine-launched Jl-1 missile and the sub-launched missile North Korea tested on August 24, 2016. The missiles the North tested on February 12, 2017 and May 21, 2017 AND what Pyongyang calls the Pukguksong-2, appear to be the land variant of the August 24 missile.
