CHINA-PAKISTAN: CPEC, CHINESE WORKERS IN BALOCHISTAN

The Islamic State's Amaq news agency said on June 8, 2017 that the ISIS has killed the two Chinese teachers that it kidnapped from Baluchistan province on May 24. Amaq said "Islamic State fighters killed two Chinese people they had been holding in Baluchistan province, southwest Pakistan." A Baluchistan government spokesman said officials were in the process of confirming "whether the report is true". China's embassy in Pakistan could not be reached and there was no immediate comment from Pakistan's interior ministry or its foreign office.

An interesting article in the Chinese version of the state-run Global Times on June 9, 2017 disclosed that the two Chinese who were kidnapped from Balochistan and later killed were engaged in proselytisation and had been lured to do Christian missionary work by Koreans.
