The People's Daily reported on September 21, 2017, that the PLA Navy had received a new nuclear submarine from the State-owned China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), which also manufactures China's aircraft carrier. The submarine was built in the Dalian shipyard. Chinese military experts speculate that it is the type 093 or 094 Type submarine.
