CHINA-INTERNAL: ANTI-CORRUPTION CAMPAIGN

Reuters reported on September 22, 2017, that the official website of the Central Discipline Inspection Commission (CDIC) had posted a report that 64-year old Wang Sanyun, who was appointed Gansu Province Party Secretary in late 2011, had been charged with being “passive” in implementing the party’s key policies, “seriously derelict” in his duties and accepted bribes and gifts in exchange for offering promotions. It said he had also violated disciplinary regulations by frequenting “private clubs” and been involved in “superstitious activities” over a prolonged period of time.
