CHINA-19TH PARTY CONGRESS: PROPAGANDA EXTOLLING XI JINPING

i) China's Ministry of Propaganda, The Central Party Literature Research Office, The Central Party History Research Office, The National Development and Reform Commission, The State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, The Central Military Commission Political Work Department and the state-owned CCTV have produced a new 7-episode propaganda documentary officially translated as "Be Faithful to Our Original Aspiration and Continue Marching Forward". The episodes all extoll the achievements since the 18th Party Congress convened in 2012. 

ii) Episode One states that the biggest theoretical achievement since the 18th Party Congress is "the spirit of the series of Comrade Xi Jinping’s important speeches and new concepts, new thinking, and new strategies for governing the country and administering state affairs”.  

iii) The latest (September 30, 2017) issue of 'Qiushi' (Seeking Truth), fortnightly theoretical journal of the CCP CC's Central Party School, has a lengthy article on studying Xi Jinping's important thinking on the United Front, written by the "Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project Important Practice And Experience Summary Research Group". The article discusses the "new direction of the goal and task" of United Front work and states that CCP CC General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward the main task of united front work as: to actively promote political relations, ethnic relations, religious relations, class relations, harmony between compatriots at home and abroad, consolidate and develop the broadest patriotic united front, to maintain the social harmony and stability, safeguard national sovereignty and security development interests, in order to maintain Hong Kong and Macao long-term prosperity and stability, to achieve complete reunification of the motherland service. Xi Jinping also said to "do a good job in the new situation under the United Front work must pay attention to methods". 

iv) The Guardian reported on October 10, 2017, that the state-run Beijing Book Building, one of the capital’s largest stores,  features at least 50 works by or about Xi Jinping. Xinhua, the official news agency, claimed a recent book of Xi anecdotes sold nearly 1.5m copies in under four months. The Governance of China has supposedly sold 6.42m copies in 21 different languages.
