CHINA-CDIC PLENUM AND 19TH PARTY CONGRESS

Xinhua reported that the CCP's 18th Central Discipline Inspection Commission (CDIC) held its Eighth Plenary Session in Beijing on October 10, 2017. The meeting discussed and approved a work report to be submitted by the CDIC to the 19th Party Congress, scheduled to open on October 18. The report will also be submitted to the Seventh Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, which will be held on Oct. 11, for discussion. Wang Qishan, member of the Politburo Standing Committee (PBSC) and Secretary of the CDIC addressed the meeting. A total of 119 members of the CCDI attended the meeting, and 12 attendees were also present as non-voting participants.

Following issue of the communique by the CDIC, a notification was issued the following day. It said that "the 6th plenary session of Central Commission for Discipline Inspection changed the agenda of previous meetings, first it was adjusted to follow General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech then it was followed with a working report by Wang Qishan representing Central Commission for Discipline Commission standing committee. Committee members pointed out in a meeting: General Secretary Xi Jinping first issued an important speech which is beneficial to understand the centre better, carry out centre’s requirements, open a good plenary session and do the New Year’s work properly. This seems to be a formal adjustment which in essence reflects CCDI maintaining a unanimous political attitude with the central committee".
