The China Cyberspace Administration disclosed on April 27, 2018 that the Guangdong Internet and Informatization Office had mobilised 5000 police officers and censored 6 million pieces of “harmful information,” shut down 580,000 Internet accounts and had taken down 700 apps in 2018.
