CHINA-INTERNAL: CYBER

The  Cyberspace Administration of China announced on May 9, 2018 that 53-year old Ma Yun (Jack Ma) founder Chairman of Alibaba and 46-year old Ma Huateng, also known as 'Pony' Ma, and founder Chairman of TenCent, are Chairmen of the China Federation of Internet Societies consisting of 300 groups to study and implement Xi Jinping thought and promote “correct political direction”.  

(Comment:  In December 2017, Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., publicly declared that China benefits from the stability of its single-party system and said he has confidence in China’s potential. He cited the stability of one party in the country, which has been led by the Communists since 1949, as as his number one reason. He said during an onstage interview at Fortune magazine’s conference in Guangzhou "I am very confident about China.”) Alibaba and Tencent are known to be cooperating closely with China's security apparatus including for data collection.)
