CHINA-INDIA: PRIME MINISTER MODI'S VISIT TO USA

China's official, authoritative news agency Xinhua on September 26, 2014, republished an article earlier published in its subsidiary publication 'Global Times' with the caption 'Modi's first visit to the United States accused of desire to seek participation "Asia-Pacific rebalancing".

The article stated that "India will not become an ally or vassal of the United States or any of a large country." Sun Shihai, President of the Chinese Association for South Asian Studies said on September 25 that India has, since decades, been insisting on a non-aligned foreign policy in order to meet the requirements of national interest. India needs to maintain a dynamic equilibrium in Asia and the world. While India to some extent needs to restrict China,  but India also needs to maintain stable relations with China to ensure the safety of the environment and economic development in India.
Sun Shihai said that after Modi came to power, the United States sent an invitation to Modi to visit, from which it is clear that the US wants to win over India and to use India as an important fulcrum of its "Asia-Pacific rebalancing" policy. India also has some interest in this regard. Because India has interests on both, the international political and economic aspects, and in geostrategic terms India wants to achieve all these by means of the power of the United States. India can use the United States to break the nuclear international embargo.
Sun Shihai quoted a former foreign minister of India as saying that "India can not form an alliance against the United States or Japan, China", and said this reflects the views of many people in India. Although some sections of the Indian media have expressed more concern about China, but in reality the Indians understand that it is impossible to ally with an unreliable big country in order to resist a neighbouring big nation. The US will use India to get its strategic interests, which is conducive to India's diplomatic situation and will also improve both their international influence, but India is a country with a strong national pride. It is also a country with very strong strategic autonomy and it does not stand together with the United States completely.
