Xinhua reported on October 17, 2014, that the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has issued a revised regulation to expand the audit of military officers' spending. Li Qinghe, Chief of the PLA's Audit Office, said areas to be audited would now include spending of public funds, housing and use of public vehicles. All military officers with economic responsibility will face auditing and officers who have not been audited may not be promoted.
