CHINA-NEPAL: TAR CHAIRMAN'S VISIT TO KATHMANDU

 Lobsang Gyaltsen, Chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), arrived in Kathmandu on October 27, 2014, at the head of a 6-member delegation. During talks with Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bam Dev Gautam and Nepal's Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, he urged them to "put in place measures to curb “anti-China activities” in Nepal".  Laxmi Prasad Dhakal, spokesman for Nepal's Home Ministry, said the TAR Chairman “urged us to curb anti-China activities and take stern action against those involved in such activities,”. Lobsang Gyaltsen is scheduled to call on President Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Dipak Chandra Amatya. TAR assistance to 15 northern border districts of Nepal will be discussed as also ideas for celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-China diplomatic relations .
