CHINA-JAPAN
The Japanese media reported on November 6, 2014, that Tokyo and Beijing are preparing for a summit between Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit next week. It would be the first such meeting in almost three years and a diplomatic breakthrough for Abe. Possibly preparatory to that Chinese State Councillor Yang Jiechi and Japan's National Security Advisor Shotaro Yachi signed a Four Point Principled Agreement on Handling and Improving Bilateral Relations on November 7, 2014.
