CHINA-INDIA: MEETING BETWEEN INDIAN PRIME MINISTER AND CHINESE PREMIER

 Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 13, 2014, in Myanmar's capital, Nay Pyi Taw. A press note issued by China said:

 
Li Keqiang said that China and India are important neighbors to each other. We held telephone talks soon after you assumed office as the Prime Minister this May, which yielded good results. President Xi Jinping paid a successful visit to India not long ago, promoting the bilateral relationship for new progress. China is willing to, together with the Indian side, grasp the overall direction of the bilateral relationship, keep the good-neighborly friendship and mutually-beneficial cooperation as the main theme of the bilateral relationship, comprehensively uplift the level of practical cooperation, and enhance communication and coordination in international and regional affairs, so as to benefit billions of people in the two nations as well as in the region. Li Keqiang invited Narendra Modi to visit China at an early date next year.
 
Narendra Modi expressed that India and China intensifying cooperation will not only benefit the two peoples, but also conduce to the region and the world at large. The visit paid by President Xi Jinping to India not long ago scored fruitful results. Premier Li Keqiang, who chose India as the first stop of his first overseas trip after assuming office as Chinese Premier, is the first foreign leader to have telephone talks with him after he took office, for which the Indian side appreciates. He is willing to pay a visit to China at an early date and discuss with China on cooperation to promote bilateral relationship for greater development.
