CHINA-INTERNAL LEADERSHIP:ANTI-CORRUPTION CAMPAIGN

 Speaking to a group of retired Chinese Communist Party veteran cadres on November 26, 2014, in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that his administration's anti-graft campaign had the "staunch backing" of retired party cadres. He cited a survey of retired officials conducted this year by the Communist Party's Organisation Department. Chinese analysts, however, say that Xi Jinping still needs to consolidate backing from these "old comrades".

 
The Caixin magazine, which is reputed to have a "good "relationship with Wang Qishan and the CCDI, recently published an expose of the business activities of Ling Wancheng, clearly identified in this article as Ling Jihua's brother. Two of Ling Jihua's brothers, Wancheng and Zhengce, are in detention. Publication of this article by Caixin is being interpreted in China as possibly another interesting signal.
 
John Jia a nephew of former Politburo Standing Committee member Zhou Yongkang, has been placed on a  “no fly/exit list” due to an investigation into his uncle. John Jia is the son of Margaret Jia, who recently left her job as head of the Canadian subsidiary of CNPC amid a shakeup. Ms. Jia is reported to be a sister-in-law of  Zhou Yongkang.
