The investigations against PLA Major General Gu Junshan, former Deputy Head of the PLA's General Logistics Department, according to informed sources involves funds worth more than 30 billion yuan (US$4.9 billion), making it potentially the biggest corruption scandal in the history of the Communist Party and the PLA. Investigations have led to the involvement of a number of senior PLA officers with over 40 PLA officers being probed.
