The website of the Party newspaper 'People’s Daily' published an article on January 5, 2015, saying that the University of Electronic Technology and Science at Xi’an was opening its 17th school to be called the School of Cyber Engineering and Innovation Center. This will specialise in network and information security and cyber-engineering. The article was originally published by the Science and Technology Daily, a newspaper managed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Analysts feel that the School of Cyber Engineering and Innovation Center appears to have support from the Communist Party’s Central Committee and the State Council.
