CHINA- PLA NAVY: PLAN FIGHTER JET TAKES OFF AND LANDS ON 'LIAONING' -- TIBET

On the eve of the PLA's 91st Founding anniversary a fighter jet of the PLA Navy conducted its maiden take-off, landing and firing drills from China's first aircraft carrier, Liaoning, at an unidentified distant sea, under simulated real-combat conditions. They also conducted exercises in the night for the first time. Helicopters, submarines, hovercrafts and the recently built new type of missile-equipped destroyer also participated in this exercise, which included airborne troops. Military expert and retired PLAN Rear Admiral Yin Zhuo (伊卓) praised this PLAN carrier strike formation exercise.  Interestingly, among those participating were the 2nd Battalion of an unidentified synchronous brigade of the Tibet Military District's PLA Ground Forces.
