CHINA-HONGKONG: HKSAR CHIEF EXECUTIVE CARRIE LAM VISITS BEIJING AND MEETS TOP OFFICIALS
Carrie Lam told reporters in Beijing on June 3, after a three-hour meeting with Chinese officials including Vice Premier Han Zheng, Public Security Minister Zhao Kezhi and Xia Baolong. Xinhua quoted PBSC member and Vice Premier Han Zheng as having stressed the central government's "firm determination" in proceeding with the new law. Carrie Lam said "The national security law is essential to ensure the long-term stability and prosperity of Hong Kong, Beijing's plan exhibits its care and love for us."
