CHINA-PLA: CCTV REPORTS ON MILITARY EXERCISES IN TAIWAN STRAIT AND SOUTH CHINA SEA

The state-owned CCTV (August 13) reported that China's Ministry of National Defense (MND) website had released the news that the PLA Eastern Theater Command recently 'deployed multiple services and multiple directions in a system to organize actual combat exercises in the Taiwan Strait and the north and south to further test and enhance the joint combat capabilities of multiple services'. On July 30, Senior Colonel Ren Guoqiang, spokesperson of the MND disclosed that recently, the PLA Southern Theater Command Naval Air Force deployed the H-6G, H-6J and other new fighters to carry out day and night operations in the relevant waters of the South China Sea.
