CHINA-INNER MONGOLIA: CHINESE AUTHORITIES START SEVERE CRACKDOWN TO QUELL PROTESTS BY MONGOLIANS

i) Chinese authorities have issued a list of 'wanted' protesters and arrested more than 130, according to Foreign Policy (September 16). The latest announcement states that parents whose children do not return to school by September 17, will be banned from receiving bank loans for five years, and their children will be expelled and forbidden to take the National University Entrance Exam. The threats are backed by coordinated data on dissidents shared across multiple platforms. 

ii) Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi rushed to Ulan Bataar on September 17 in connection with the ongoing rioting in the Nei Mongol AR.
