On November 17, Sinopharm Chairman Liu Jingzhen revealed that nearly one million people had been given its COVID-19 vaccines, which are still under Phase III clinical trials. He was quoted by South China Morning Post as saying: “[T]he vaccines were applied to nearly a million people”; “[T]here has not been a single case of a serious adverse event”; and “People have had only mild symptoms.”

 

(Comment: Due to the lack of COVID-19 patients in China, Sinopharm is currently conducting Phase III clinical trials abroad to determine the effectiveness of the vaccines, including in UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Peru and Argentina.)
