CHINA-US: CHINESE OFFICIALS ASSERT THEY ARE PROUD OF BEING SANCTIONED BY THE U.S.

Zhang Xiaoming, Executive Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council said at a press conference called by the State Council on March 12 after the NPC Plenum: "My colleagues in the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office and I were sanctioned by the US last year, and we are very proud of that". He mentioned that among others sanctioned were Chen Wenjun, Director of the Information Bureau and spokesperson of the State Council Information Office and Zhang Yong, Deputy Director of the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
