CHINA-PLA: GLOBAL TIMES REPORTS THAT CHINA'S MOST MODERN J-20 'STEALTH' FIGHTER AIRCRAFT WILL BE UPGRADED WITH 2D THRUST VECTORING NOZZLES

The Global Times (April 19) publicised the comments of Li Gang, the pilot of the J-20's first flight, to Phoenix TV on April 18. He said that China's most advanced stealth fighter jet will be upgraded with 2D thrust vectoring nozzles for its engines.  J-20s in service with the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force currently all use circular nozzles with no thrust vector control capability. Chinese military aviation expert Fu Qianshao told Global Times that Thrust vector control will provide extra manoeuvrability and 2D nozzles can enhance the stealth capabilities of the J-20.
