CHINA-PLA: PLA PORTAL DISCLOSES PRESENCE OF FEMALE SOLDIERS IN XINJIANG MILITARY REGION'S HIGH-ALTITUDE AREA

A PLA news portal revealed (May 30) that a brigade of the Xinjiang Military Region of China is stationed on a snow-covered plateau at an altitude of 4,500 meters in difficult combat conditions. It said the PLA had recently disclosed the combat strength of the special female soldiers of the military region. According to reports, the three special female soldiers in a brigade heavy firearms training team in the Xinjiang Military Region are all about 1.6 meters (5.25 feet) tall and weigh more than 50 kilograms. In addition, reports revealed that female soldier Ke Yawen had also visited the PLA 5184 outpost not far from the Sino-Indian confrontation border. According to reports, the 5184 station is located on the shore of Lake Pangong, which is of great strategic significance.
