CHINA-LEADERSHIP: XI JINPING CHAIRS POLITBURO'S 31ST 'COLLECTIVE STUDY' SESSION ON JUNE 25

The state-owned CCTV reported (June 27) that on the occasion of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the Politburo "used red resources and continued red blood" for its 31st collective study on June 25. It said that chairing the meeting General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that "the red resource is the witness of our party's hard and brilliant struggle and is the most precious spiritual wealth. The red bloodline is a concentrated expression of the political nature of the Chinese Communist Party and is the source of spiritual strength for Chinese Communists in the new era. We must protect and build the red world that the revolutionary martyrs shed blood and sacrifice, and strive to create new achievements that live up to the expectations of the revolutionary ancestors and are worthy of history and the people".  CCTV said that on June 25 afternoon, Xi Jinping led comrades from the Politburo to the "Red House of Peking University to visit the "Red Prologue of the Glorious Achievement - The Theme Exhibition of the Red House of Peking University and the Early Beijing Revolution of the Communist Party of China". It said Xi Jinping pointed out that "Peking University was the centre of the New Culture Movement and the source of the May Fourth Movement. It was the first to spread Marxist thought in China, and it was also the historical witness of our party's early revolutionary activities in Beijing. It has an important position in the process of party building. It is necessary to strengthen the protection and utilization of red resources, respect historical facts, accurately evaluate history, and correctly learn and use history". The Peking University Red House theme exhibition revolves around Li Dazhao, Chen Duxiu, Mao Zedong and other early party founders, showing the glorious history of Beijing's revolutionary activities during the founding of the Communist Party of China. The exhibition incorporates the old site in the Red Building of Peking University, including the director's office of the library where Li Dazhao worked and the second reading room where Mao Zedong worked.  The 31 old sites of Peking University Red Building and the editorial office of "New Youth" opened to the outside world were important meeting places and major historical events in Beijing from 1915 to June 1923 related to the founding of the Communist Party of China. CCTV also said that Beijing had arranged the theme exhibition of "The Red Prologue of the Glorious Albert" on June 29.
