CHINA-CORRUPTION: CHINA'S ANTI-CORRUPTION CAMPAIGN NETS SEVEN MORE 'TIGERS'

The official website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CDIC) and the State Supervision Commission (SSC) on September 29 and 30, reported that seven provincial and ministerial officials, referred to as 'Tigers', who were sacked were dealt with intensively. It mentioned that: i) Zhang Bencai, former secretary of the party group and chief procurator of the Shanghai People's Procuratorate, was expelled from the party and public office for serious violations of discipline and law. (Zhang Bencai was born in May 1967. In 2016, he served as the chief procurator and party secretary of the Shanghai People's Procuratorate.); ii) Wang Dawei, former deputy governor of the Liaoning Provincial Government and former director of  the Public Security Department, was expelled from the party and public office for serious violations of discipline and law. (Wang Dawei was born in April 1964. In 2013, he was transferred to the Secretary and Director of the Party Committee of the Liaoning Provincial Public Security Department, and later served as the Deputy Governor of the Liaoning Provincial Government, and the Secretary and Director of the Party Committee of the Provincial Public Security Department.); iii) Cao Guangjing, former member of the party group of the Hubei provincial government and vice governor, was expelled from the party and public office for serious violations of discipline and law. (Cao Guangjing was born in March 1964. In January 2010, he served as chairman and party secretary of China Three Gorges Corporation, and in 2014, he served as vice governor of Hubei Province.); iv) Song Xibin, former member of the party group and deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Congress, was expelled from the party and public office for serious violations of discipline and law. (Song Xibin was born in April 1963. In 2011, he served as the deputy secretary and deputy mayor of the Harbin Municipal Party Committee. In 2012, he served as the mayor of Harbin. In January 2018, he served as the deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Congress.); v) Li Guohua, former deputy secretary and general manager of China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd., was expelled from the party for serious violations of discipline and law. (Li Guohua was born in March 1960. In October 2016, he served as the general manager and party secretary of China Post Group Corporation, and the chairman and party secretary of China Postal Savings Bank Co., Ltd. In 2018, Li Guohua served as the director, general manager, and deputy secretary of the party group of China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd.); vi) Hu Yifeng, former Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of the Higher People's Court of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, was expelled from the Party for serious violations of discipline and law. (Hu Yifeng was born in May 1954. In 2003, Hu Yifeng served as the executive deputy secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Party Committee. In 2008, he served as the secretary general of the Standing Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People's Congress and a member of the Party group. In 2011, he served as the president and secretary of the Party group of the Higher People's Court of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. He resigned in January 2018.); vii) Sun Yuanliang, former deputy secretary and vice chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Political Consultative Conference, was expelled from the party for serious violations of discipline and law. (Sun Yuanliang was born in March 1955. In 2011, he served as secretarygeneral of the Liaoning Provincial Political Consultative Conference, member of the party group, minister of the United Front Work Department of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the party group of the Provincial Institute of Socialism. In 2013, Sun Yuanliang served as the vice chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Political Consultative Conference and continued to serve as the minister of the United Front Work Department of the provincial party committee. In 2016, he stepped down as the minister of the United Front Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee, and in January 2018, he stepped down as the vice chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Political Consultative Conference.)
