CHINA-INTERNAL: INTEGRITY CHECKS FOR CADRES
Zhuang Deshui, Vice Director of the Research Center for Government Integrity Building at Peking University, said that the Party's anti-corruption office has done a good job in cracking down on graft, and should expand on that by establishing a mechanism for ensuring officials are clean. He said "integrity checks" of character and diligence would keep corrupt officials from rising through the ranks. It would also give the Central Discipline Inspection Commission (CDIC) veto power over promotions. (Comments: The Party is separately formulating plans to use 'big data' to facilitate such integrity checks, but of a more comprehensive nature.)
