A PLA  Navy website announced on July 2, 2015,that the North China Sea Fleet of the PLA Navy organized and conducted a joint live-fire confrontation exercise  that day in which "hundreds of ships, dozens of combat aircraft conducted combat exercises in the Yellow Sea" participated. It disclosed that a Second Artillery missile battalion participated in the exercise and conducted joint strikes and troops from the East China Sea Fleet and the Shenyang and Jinan Military Regions participated in the information warfare.
