Global Times, the subsidiary newspaper of the CCP mouthpiece People's Daily on January 19, 2015, reported that Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida, while on his 17th visit to India delivered a speech announcing Japan's large-scale investment in northeastern India. It said that during the speech he described " 'Arunachal Pradesh' (ie, southern Tibet)" as Indian territory. It noted his comment that "Japan has currently no plans to invest in this region. "
