CHINA-INTERNAL: TIANJIN BLAST
The Chinese magazine Caijin has claimed that Dong Mengmeng, son of former Tianjin Port Public Security Bureau Dong Peijun, is suspected of being a shareholder of the company at the centre of last week’s massive chemical blasts when 700 tons of sodium cyanide exploded at the Hebei-based Ruihai International Logistics warehouse. The private company which has been accused of violating laws and regulations. At least 112 people including 85 fire-fighters have been killed and hundreds injured. Sohu News reported that Dong Mengmeng used the pseudonym “Dong Ruihai” in his past business dealings, sparking speculations that Ruihai International Logistics was named after him. The company’s general manager Zhi Feng was injured in the blast and remains hospitalised in police custody.
