CHINA-INDIA: SENIOR CHINESE ACADEMIC MAKES OFFENSIVE REMARK ABOUT INDIA

Well known Chinese Professor of International Relations at Renmin University and America expert Jin Canrong was interviewed by the popular news portal Guangcha.com on March 7. During the interview, replying to a question on Chinese vaccines, he said: 'The EU's attitude has also changed. At first, the EU was very sceptical and was reluctant to use Chinese vaccines. Later, because they did not produce and supply them, they went to the UK to buy them. The UK said that I had insufficient production capacity. Should I give you the Indian vaccines? Hehehe, it's like saying: How about giving you the "fake and shoddy"? This is not a humiliation.' Commenting on China's international environment, he said 'it seems that Western countries are getting more and more yin and yang weird, and they always "pick the bones in the egg". So far, no Western country has cleanly admitted that China has done a good job in fighting the epidemic. The same is true for the vaccine problem. Now everyone knows that vaccines are a more effective way to solve the new crown epidemic, but objectively there are only a few countries with more mature vaccines: China, the United States, Russia, and the United Kingdom. In history, France and Germany have very strong vaccine capabilities, and both of them withdrew from the competition this time. Japan and South Korea are not very capable of vaccines.'
