Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to visit Vietnam on December 12--13, 2023. This
will be Xi Jinping's third visit to Vietnam.
(Comment: Chinese President Xi Jinping earlier visited Vietnam in 2015 and 2017. 2023 marks
the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic cooperative
partnership between China and Vietnam. Vietnam is China’s biggest trading partner in the
Association of Southeast Asian Nations. China registered US$2.92 billion in direct investment
in Vietnam over the first nine months of the year, 94.9 per cent higher than in the first three
quarters of last year, according to Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment.)
